Location: Near the main entrance to the recreation area
Hours: Open year round Monday to Friday (8 am – 4 pm). From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the center is also open Saturday and Sunday (12 pm – 3 pm).
Things to do: The nature center has displays and exhibits about the plant and animal life of the park. The cheerful solarium showcases seasonal exhibits including butterfly rearing and nature free play.
Also in the nature center: The Friends group at Richard Bong sells useful and fun items to help you explore nature and remember your visit. Park business is conducted in the nature center when the entrance station is closed. You can also enjoy a great view of the bird feeders!
