The following is list of the most frequently asked questions and most often misunderstood rules. If you have additional questions, stop at the park entrance station, or the Molinaro Visitor Center. We want you to enjoy your stay at Richard Bong State Recreation Area.

1. Bicycles/Mountain Bikes: Restricted to paved roads only except bicycles and mountain bikes are permitted on the trails north of Hwy. 142. Trail passes are required for all cyclists age 16 and older using the trails north of Hwy. 142. All cyclists must obey all traffic laws especially stop signs.

2. Campsites are restricted to a maximum of one family or 6 unrelated individuals, one picnic table, and two motor vehicles (park additional vehicles in overflow lots in each campground). All wheeled vehicles (including trailers, pop-ups, motor homes, etc.) must be kept on the gravel campsite pad.

3. Curfew is 11PM to 6AM. Only registered campers in or en route to the campground are allowed in the park during these hours.

4. Disabled Access facilities are provided in all campgrounds and several use areas of the park. An accessible fishing pier is provided at Wolf Lake and fishing platforms will be available spring of 2009 at the Urban Fishing Pond. A new fully-accessible cabin is available in the Sunset Campground. There are several accessible hunting blinds and access to small game hunting as well. 5. Disturbances: Report specifics (campsite number, vehicle, or descriptions of persons involved, etc.) promptly to Rangers, Campground Hosts, or Entrance station personnel so corrective action can be taken.

6. Extension of your camping stay (if your site is available) must be made by 3PM on the day before your permit expires. Campsites must be vacated by 3PM on the last day of the permit period.

7. Firewood can be purchased Friday from 5pm-8pm and Saturday 3pm-6pm with expanded hours on holidays weekends. The firewood shed is located in the Visitor Center parking lot. Cost is $5.00 per bundle of kiln-dried and pest-free wood. Fires may only be made in fire rings or grills. Only dead and down wood may be collected on-property, tickets will be issued if standing trees are cut or vandalized.

8. Fishing licenses are required for persons age 16 and older.

9. Pets must be on a leash and tended at all times in the campground and on the trails. pet are not allowed in any building, in any picnic areas or on the beach.

10. Quiet Hours: Our "Reasonably Quiet" rule (any noise in one campsite should not disturb campers in adjacent sites) is enforced 24 hours a day. generators and external speakers are prohibited.

11. Trash: Other than campgrounds, all areas within the park are "carry in/carry out". All garbage and recyclables must be taken out of the park with you when you leave. If you are a registered camper, you may deposit your bagged trash and recyclables in the bins located near the entrance to Sunrise and/or Sunset campgrounds. THANK YOU!!

12. Rollerblades/Skates: Rollerblades are allowed on paved roads only. Roller skates and skateboards are prohibited on all roads.

13. Severe Weather: In case of severe weather or warnings, toilet buildings should be used for shelter.

14. Speed Limits in the park vary from 10-25MPH. Speed limits and other traffic rules are strictly enforced for your safety and protection.

15. Admission Stickers are required on all motor vehicles in the park. They must be affixed directly and completely by their own adhesive to the lower left corner (driver's side) of the vehicle windshield.

16. Telephones: A pay phone is located at the Entrance Station parking lot.

17. Watercraft including rubber rafts, must be equipped with a personal flotation device for each passenger.
